Learn the art of Italic hand lettering with broad edged tools, based on the writing of 15^th century Renaissance Italy. In addition to learning the elegant oval shapes and beautiful slant of Italic calligraphy, you’ll experiment with a variety of tools, papers and materials calligraphers use. Uncial Calligraphy

Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, learn a Celtic (Irish) style of calligraphy called Uncial (pronounced UN-shul), the style of hand lettering used across Europe from the 4th through the 8th centuries. You will use broad edged tools to make these unique, rounded letterforms. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of tools, papers and materials calligraphers use.
