Flowering Lotus- Blessings
Online Class. Limit: 15 students.

Please Note: Register by Monday, July 20th, to receive your class kit via USPS in time for the class.
We find it hard to believe that this exquisite Lotus flower is made by repeating one simple folding pattern on multiple pieces of paper. The secret is in the clever assembly, augmented by some gentle coaxing of the leaves and petals while unfolding them. In contrast to the lotus in nature, these paper variations fashioned by Mia Semingson, co-owner of Two Hands Paperie, are a riot of color and pattern. We love the visual excitement created by combining different papers! We also love that the lotus can be used as a special blessing by writing on each piece of paper before folding – perhaps to celebrate a wedding or a new baby, or as encouragement for a dear friend. Somehow having the words partially hidden makes the blessing more meaningful. In addition, the smaller version of the lotus makes a special ornament or decoration for a package. Once you’ve learned the steps for the fold and have assembled your flower it’s quick and easy to make more. There’s time in class for you to make one, but you will receive a class kit that will allow you to make 3 lotus blossoms. Even though these paper lotuses are quite different from the ones in nature, we think they still retain that aura of purity, beauty, and spiritual awakening associated with the real flower.
This class is appropriate for ages 10 and up.

In addition, the fee for a class cancelled within this 14-day timeframe by a participant cannot be transferred to pay for another class.
