Flowering Lotus NEW!
Sunday, April 30th, 1:00- 4:00PM
Instructor: Mia Semingson
We find it hard to believe that this exquisite Lotus flower is made by repeating one simple folding pattern on sixteen sheets of paper. The secret is in the clever assembly, augmented by some gentle coaxing of the leaves and petals while unfolding them. In contrast to the lotus in nature, these paper variations fashioned by Mia Semingson, co-owner of Two Hands Paperie, are a riot of color and pattern. We love the visual excitement created by combining different papers! Once you’ve learned the steps for the fold and have assembled your flower, it’s quick and easy to make more. You can dramatically change the look depending on the mix of colors and patterns you choose for the petals and leaves. Even though these paper lotuses are quite different from the ones in nature, we think they still retain that aura of purity, beauty, and spiritual awakening associated with the real flower. There will be time in class for you to make at least two.
Please bring the following materials for class:
- Class includes all materials!
Cancellations made up to 14 days prior to the first class meeting will be refunded or, at the participant's option, used to pay for another class. Two Hands Paperie will retain a $10 processing fee for EACH class cancelled by a participant. After 14 days, there is no refund or credit. In addition, the fee for a class cancelled within this 14-day timeframe by a participant cannot be transferred to pay for another class. These policies are to ensure that teachers are compensated for their investment in materials and in time spent preparing for the class. We reserve the right to cancel a class if fewer than 3 students enroll 48 hours prior to the scheduled class time. If for any reason Two Hands Paperie cancels a class, students will be called at the phone number on file and refunded the FULL class fee.
