Write. Doodle. Draw. Repeat.
Saturday, May 11th, 1:00-4:00pm
Instructor: Lisa DeYoung
Learn to cultivate a fun journaling practice one bite-sized chunk at a time! Your guide is Lisa DeYoung (aka the Mountain Mermaid), who happily describes herself as a journal junkie. Her guiding principle is “Create, Play, Explore”, and it influences everything she does. Lisa will show you how to create a small journal that fits inside a pocket or purse, making it easy to take with you when you’re out and about. She’ll also share her favorite tools and techniques for building a creative journaling practice that fits into a busy life, and will show examples from her personal practice for visual inspiration. The remaining class time is for enjoying what Lisa calls a “mini musings adventure” – a time to write, doodle, draw, and repeat. It’s your first step in creating, playing, and exploring more!

Lisa DeYoung, aka the mountain mermaid, is a journal junkie, mixed-media book artist, and creative adventure guide living in the Rocky Mountains. She's an independent spirit whose motto in life is "Create, Play, Explore". When she's not out exploring the trails she can often be seen pedaling around town with her colorful bag of journaling supplies. Embracing her creative life is an ongoing adventure – a journey that she loves and trusts more each year – and she strives to inspire others to do the same. To that end, she's created the www.mountainmermaidstudios.com It provides an inviting space for someone to establish a simple, daily creative practice. The secret, she says, is to make journaling bite-sized so that it fits into the busy-ness of daily life! View more of Lisa's musings at
