Missing your creative self but don’t know how to get back in touch? Renew the connection with a simple illustrated journaling practice. This fun and accessible workshop with author, artist, and coach Cynthia Morris is based on her popular Capture the Wow! journaling class, and focuses on capturing the wonders of our world, right here, right now. You’ll learn how to amplify your senses, pay exquisite attention to what’s around you, and use a handful of tools to bring what you see, think, and feel into full color on the page.
The class is less about art instruction (though Cynthia will step through a few of her favorite techniques) and more about experiencing the world around you in a new way. You’ll gain permission (from yourself!) to be messy and playful as you fill your journal to bursting with colorful sketches, lists, stories, doodles, and dreams. In the process, discover how keeping an illustrated journal can enrich your life. There’s no experience or artistic skill required. Just show up with curiosity, a sense of fun, and a willingness to play!
Note that the class is divided into two sessions. The first session is instruction and creative practice. In between sessions you’ll have time to experiment, discover, and fill your pages. Cynthia will check in via email about how things are going. The final session, in her words, “is for us to gather together, share what we’ve done, ask questions, and celebrate our creative selves.”
This online class will be recorded and made available to class participants for 10 days after the class.
Please bring the following materials:
Cynthia encourages you to choose just a few favorite supplies so that you can focus on what lights you up. Gather only the materials that currently give you a creative zing.

Cynthia Morris, a published author and creativity coach, has been keeping written journals since 1994 and started filling them with colorful illustrations in 2004. She has written two e-books on how anyone can use art-making techniques to enjoy life more. Her mission? To help people have more fun and feel more creative. When Cynthia's not in her Denver office, she's riding her bicycle, practicing yoga, frolicking in the park, whipping up a feast in the kitchen, snuggled up reading a book, or popping over to Europe. Through her company Original Impulse, Cynthia leads creativity workshops in Europe like the one she teaches at Two Hands Paperie. She finds that keeping an illustrated journal makes her happy.
