Event Details

Dia de los Muertos, a vibrant Mexican tradition bursting with color, ranks among our most cherished celebrations. Translated literally as “Day of the Dead,” this holiday is, contrary to its name, a lively and joyful tribute to life. Participants hold that during this time, the spirits of loved ones who have passed away return from the afterlife to reconnect with those still living.This holiday features food, drink, vibrant music, and festive gatherings, celebrating the pastimes that the spirits once cherished. A key tradition involves creating personal altars, known as ofrendas, adorned with bright flowers and meaningful keepsakes.

Using collage techniques, participants will craft a two-dimensional homage to a cherished person, beloved pet, or any subject of their choosing. Bring your creative ideas and materials and lets explore collage together! We'll supply a variety of decorative papers and ephemera, you supply your favorite pair of scissors, glue stick, and preferred collage materials, then be prepared to get inspired by fellow collage artists in the group. This is a no instruction, work at your own pace event.

Event Materials

Please bring the following materials:

• Favorite pair of scissors
  
• Glue stick
  
• Preferred collage materials
• Optional- bring an image of a loved one or pet to pay tribute to in your collaged piece. 

Event Materials Include:

• Various tools- scissors, pens, pencils, bone folders, cutting mats, etc.
• Variety of papers and ephemera to use during the event
  
• Treats and beverages- this is a celebration! 

Event Cancellation Policy

The $5 event fee in non-refundable. In addition, this fee cannot be transferred to pay for another event. We reserve the right to cancel an event if fewer than 3 participants enroll 48 hours prior to the scheduled time. If for any reason Two Hands Paperie cancels an event, participants will be notified and refunded the FULL event fee.
