Watercolor Pencils - Coloring Nature NEW! In-Store Class Oct 11
Watercolor Pencils - Coloring Nature NEW! In-Store Class
Saturday, October 11, 11-4pm
Instructor: Renee Jorgensen
Limit: 6 students. All participants must be 15 years or older.
Class Details
Watercolor pencils look like ordinary colored pencils, but magic happens when they’re combined with water. More than just paint in pencil form, they’re a distinct medium that marries drawing and painting in a unique way. They have special properties that go beyond the usual characteristics of watercolor itself, and are convenient for traveling, journaling, or quick sketching.
Discover just how versatile watercolor pencils are during this introductory class with Renee Jorgensen, a local artist who taught drawing and illustration at Denver’s School of Botanical Art and Illustration for years. Learn techniques such as how to mix colors on a paper palette, how to work directly off the pencils, how to manage both wet and dry color, and how to use a water brush to create on demand color. You’ll practice the techniques as you work on the hand drawn illustration Renee created for class. Try out her “magic color tool” to help with color choices.
There’s no need to have experience with watercolors or watercolor pencils. Everyone is welcome! Renee invites you to enjoy exploring new ways of working with this unique medium.

In addition, the fee for a class cancelled within this 14-day timeframe by a participant cannot be transferred to pay for another class. These policies are to ensure that teachers are compensated for their investment in materials and in time spent preparing for the class.
