Limit: 6 students. All participants must be 15 years or older.

Class Details

Soar above the front range – figuratively speaking, that is – as you craft these colorful hot air balloons! In designing her newest class for Two Hands Paperie, paper and fiber artist Nanci Hill Feeney drew upon her background as a quilter and stained glass artist. The paper balloons serve as a delightful way to learn how to mix and match patterns and colors. Nanci shares her ideas and gives you some guidelines. There’s something satisfying, she says, about taking small pieces of paper and then joining them together to create a larger design.

Choose from three base patterns for the balloons. Focus on one or make all of them. Nanci supplies dozens of patterned paper options, lots of stencils, some embellishments, and ribbons for hanging. Customize your balloons by adding words and wishes, which can be tailored to birthdays, holidays, seasons, or any special event. Use your decorated balloons singly, or string them into a fanciful display with little accent flags. Such fun!

An email will be sent to participants the Monday before the class. Classes with homework may receive pre-class info earlier.  No email? Double check the email address you entered when you registered and your SPAM folder. Due to SPAM filters and inbox settings, we cannot guarantee you will see, read, or open these emails. Two Hands Paperie assumes no responsibility for non-attendance of a class. Contact twohandsclasses@gmail.com with any class questions and see our Class Policies page for more information.

    Instructor Bio

Proud to hail from the Midwest, Nanci is a daughter of an avid quilter and volunteer. Before becoming a Mom herself she worked in the nonprofit world of arts administration in Southern California. She confesses to developing a crush on every art form she touches. Love affairs include letterpress, stained glass, graphic design, botanical illustration, needlework (sashiko, embroidery), and all things fabric (pattern design, piecing, hand appliqué, quilting).

Nanci’s been teaching various crafts for about 10 years and is known for bringing communities together to make creative and useful items for local nonprofits. She now crafts in a variety of fiber and paper arts and indulges in her love of letterpress at Black Dog Studios. Oh, and you can find her working at Two Hands Paperie most Sundays. She invites you to please stop in and say hello!

Two little known facts about Nanci – her rescue dog Poppy curls up under her workspace whenever she creates! Nanci was a World Champion in the Sweet Adelines International Competition. The organization, founded in 1945, is a worldwide nonprofit music education program for women that’s focused on barbershop harmonies. All we can say is Wow!
